I think we can all agree that we are living far beyond our environmental means and we will eventually come to a point where Earth can no longer support the resource-intensive lifestyle that millions of us lead. It is time that we recognise our environmental impact and take steps to mitigate our environmental footprint. The sustainable living movement is definitely growing and it can be really overwhelming to be swarmed by information and even by standards of what it means or looks like to live a minimal waste lifestyle. First of all, it is important to set your personal intentions for why you want to live sustainably. Having an intention just sets a clearer mindset for yourself also acts as a source of motivation to get yourself back on track in times when life gets busy and living sustainably may not take priority. Next, take it slow. No one expects you to become a minimal waste guru in a single day. I took weeks before I was satisfied with the changes that I've made and I still have tons of improvements to make! Make your own priorities in terms of which aspect of your life you want to cut down on waste first. This is why I have detailed three sections below - this way, you can tackle one aspect of sustainable living at a time and not feel overwhelmed! Remember, small changes are still changes !
